Join us as we review the uniqueness and vulnerability of our largest organ, the skin. From Invacare UK our 'Posture and Pressure Care Product Specialist' - Ian Bickerton will firstly present and discuss Pressure Ulcers and their implications for both Patients and Carers to gain a basic understanding of:
* Skin Anatomy
* Mechanical causes of pressure ulcers.
* Intrinsic and Extrinsic Risk factors in the development of pressure ulcers.
* Risk Assessment Tools.
* Implications for care.
He will then demonstrate how innovative support surface designs can effectively reduce and eliminate pressure ulcers to enhance the quality of care outcomes, with an open discussion on care practices from around the world.
