Australian Wound Management Association National Conference will be held at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The theme of our Conference is ‘Journey into New Frontiers’ – an opportunity to not only reflect on where we are today but more importantly to focus on the road ahead and the future of wound care. The rate of change is increasing, with better understanding of wound healing through research, therapeutic advances and new treatments and increasing evidence-based changes to wound care all contributing to changing the wound care landscape. We aim to bring together people from all the areas that are contributing to changing wound care, from delivery of care through to therapeutic development.

Communication is key to change, and by bringing together people from the entire spectrum of wound care and management to Perth in 2010, we will provide a forum for clinicians to become better informed of the latest research, researchers to be better informed of the challenges faced in the clinic and for everyone involved in wound care to forge new and exciting collaborations that will become the new frontiers in wound care.

The IRSA Daily Living Expo is held at Melbourne Racing Club, Caulfield Racecourse on 25-26 August 2010. There will be more than 100 exhibitors displaying a wide range of products and services for people with disabilities and the elderly. On display will be the latest in assistive technology, mobility solutions, pressure care, employment support, accessible recreation/holiday ideas, modified motor vehicles and a lot more.

A feature of the Expo is the Clinical Education Program that is run 2 days in room conveniently located above the exhibition floor. The 2010 seminar program will be available early next year. Admission to both the Expo and the Clinical Education Program is free and there is plenty of free parking onsite at Melbourne Racing Club.

The Australian Association for the Manual Handling of People (AAMHP) is passionate about information sharing, understanding and improving practice and education. AAMHP is a multidisciplinary group consisting of Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Occupational Health and Safety Practitioners and Ergonomists. Our aim is to promote the improvement of training and practice in the manual handling of people and develop a compassionate and collaborative network of likeminded professionals interested in the manual handling of people.

The theme “Moving on”- Exploring New Directions in People Handling 2010 Conference aims to enable change, encourage new approaches to key challenges and build a supportive education and training culture.
